Google Chrome has billions of active users globally because of its popularity for simplicity.

However, some people find specific characteristics unpleasant. One of them is the trending searches that appear when you are going to perform a Google search.

The trending searches feature is accessible in practically all browsers, not only Chrome.

Some people could find the feature helpful, while some would not. Some users might not find the popular searches interesting at all, or they might not find them relevant at all.

For whatever reason, you may want to disable Google’s trending searches in your Chrome browser.

Turn Off Trending Searches On Google Chrome on Android & iOS

Disabling trending searches on Android and iOS devices is a similar process.

Step 1: On your iPhone or Android device, open the Google Chrome browser.

Step 2: Visit google.com.

Step 3: Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) located in the upper-left corner of the screen after visiting google.com.

Step 4: Choose Settings from the options that appear.

Step 5: The Search Settings Page will now be visible to you.

Step 6: Navigate to the section labelled “Auto-complete with trending searches” below.

Step 7: Select the choice Don’t display Trending searches.

Step 8: Touch the bottom Save button to save the settings.

Return to google.com now, and the trending searches will no longer be suggested by Google.

Turn Off Trending Searches On Google Chrome on a Windows or a Mac

Whether you are using a Mac or a PC, you can also remove the trending searches from your desktop. This is the procedure to follow.

Step 1: Open the desktop version of the Google Chrome application.

Step 2: Visit google.com.

Step 3: Select Search Settings after clicking the Settings button in the lower-right area of the screen.

Step 4: Go to Trending Searches and Auto-complete.

Step 5: Click Save at the bottom to save the settings after selecting the “Do not show popular searches” option.

You might have to complete a captcha. Select the box next to “I’m not a robot” if prompted.

Google on your PC will now not allow trending searches option.
